Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
In the Machine Learning Engineer role, your responsibilities may include:
- Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, etc.)
- Working with large datasets — preprocessing, feature engineering, cleaning, transformation
- Building and maintaining data pipelines / ETL workflows
- Performing model validation, hyperparameter tuning, cross-validation, and performance evaluation
- Deploying models in production (APIs, microservices, or model serving frameworks)
- Collaborating with data engineers, software developers, product teams, and domain experts
- Translating business problems into ML solutions and generating insights
- Monitoring model performance in production and retraining as needed
- Documenting code, experiments, and maintaining reproducible workflows
