Barclays is looking to onboard Engineers skilled in PySpark / SQL for its Pune office. This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses / lakes, and enabling analytics and data-driven decision making for financial products and services.
Role Overview & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data architectures: data pipelines, data warehouses/lakes, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable data storage and processing systems. search.jobs.barclays
- Develop and implement processing and analytical algorithms to handle large volumes of data; work on data ingestion, transformation, and data modeling using PySpark, SQL, and other big-data technologies. search.jobs.barclays+1
- Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and other engineering teams to build data-driven features, analytics products, or machine-learning pipelines. search.jobs.barclays
- Ensure data integrity, performance optimization, and follow best practices for data processing, security and compliance.
Eligibility & Skills Required
Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
- Freshers or early career candidates eligible (depending on posting) with interest in data engineering and big-data systems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PySpark, Python, SQL; familiarity with big-data ecosystems (Hadoop/Spark, data lakes, AWS or cloud-data platforms) is preferred. search.jobs.barclays+1
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and ability to write efficient, scalable data processing code.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, version control (Git), data processing tools — beneficial for success in this role.
